Chasing ADVNTR: Monthly Update
This month including a surprising amount of travel, including several final college visits as well as a New England getaway with friends. Here’s a quick run down:
Hadley and I spent an extra long weekend in San Francisco visiting the Northeastern Oakland Campus. We made the most of our time with some time exploring the city, staying with family in Tiburon and visiting with friends in Berkely. It was the type of trip that gave me full confidence that Hadley is going to have an amazing year in California.
Next - I headed up to Vermont with Finley to look at UVM, and of course stopped at the Ben and Jerry’s factory for a quick visit.
Looking for visit Vermont? Check out the amazing town of Burke in the Northeast Kingdom.
Next it was off to Rhode Island for an overnight with my two high school friends. We meet up every spring for a night and this time we stopped into Westerly Rhode Island and stayed in nearby Charlestown in the Historic Old Stanton Inn. Each year we find a few long walks, linger over meals and just catch up on the year. We enjoyed finding two trolls at Ninigret Park.
Our final travel is underway as you read this as we’re spending a week in Ireland- standby for more photos!
What’s Coming in May
After returning from Ireland in early May, we will be staying home for the rest of the month - our seniors are finishing up their final year of high school and Freja is wrapping up 8th grade. We have a big summer trip coming up at the end of June and we’re trying to get ahead in life to make sure that we’re all set to take off on this adventure.
Any predictions on where we’re heading this summer?
On Chasing ADVNTR
I’ve been working on writing up a few of the things we did in Guatamala.
Visit ARCHES
I’ve also launched my first National Park itinerary bundle this month - if you are planning a trip to Arches, this is a 25 page itinerary as well as 3 bonus guides on where to stay, where to eat, and what to pack. This itinerary is available directly on my website or as part of the National Parks Club Memberbership.
Have fun out there,
Gretchen

I like these kinds of updates because they feel like actual life instead of “content.” College visits, seeing friends, random stops at Ben & Jerry’s, short regional trips. It’s easy to forget later how meaningful these transition periods actually were while they were happening.
And New England really is one of those places where small movement works unusually well. A few hours driving and the entire atmosphere changes again.
